Prelude: On a fine Sunday, Pakistan decides to block Youtube. In the process, perhaps accidentally, Pakistan announces they are the Youtube. Consequently Youtube disappears from the Internet for some two hours.

What is said to have happened: Pakistan advertised more specific prefixes of Youtube under their ASN. This clip* renders advertisement of 208.65.153.0/24 [one of the many specific prefixes of Youtube, advertised under AS17557] by PKTELECOM and propagation of that information by other ISPs/Organisations. In other words, Pakistan said "Hey, I am Youtube" to PCCW. PCCW then relayed this information to their peers. PCCW peers, then, advertised this erroneous information to their peers and so on.
Halfway through the clip it can be seen that everyone** assumed Youtube is Pakistan. Rest of the play shows how ISPs/Organisations hear Youtube's "HEY! I am the real Youtube" after PCCW cut off Pakistan from rest of the world.

* This is a motion capture of BGPlay in action for 208.65.153.0/24 from 0000hrs of 24th February to 0100hrs of 26th February 2008 (UTC Time)
** 'Everyone' here refers to everyone known to BGPlay over a period of 10 days via University of Oregon Route Views Project that are propagating the queried prefix.
